Maria Marques won $1 million playing the "Monopoly 50X" scratch-off lottery game and collected her money last week, the Massachusetts State Lottery said.
Marques plans to use the cash to make some repairs around her home, buy a new ring, and take a vacation where she can show it off.
Marques decided to take the lump sum of $650,000 before taxes rather than the annuity.
Joe’s Liquors at 90 Eagle St. in Fall River will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling her the winning ticket. Marques says she likes to buy her lottery tickets at different locations each time. This was her first time buying from Joe's Liquors.
